A Pool Installation Process

So, you’re having a swimming pool built or installed. If you’re still in the early stages, then you probably have a lot of questions about what to expect. And, while the process will be different for every pool and from one pool company to the next, there are a few commonalities in every pool construction process.

Be Prepared to Wait At Least a Month

First things first, with almost any swimming pool, you can expect to wait at least a month for installation to be complete, if not quite a bit longer.

Fiberglass pools are typically your best bet when you’re in a hurry but want more quality than a vinyl liner pool offers. They are pre-built, so you really just have to have your yard prepared and the pool installed, which shouldn’t take longer than six week or so in most cases. Other types of pools, however, can take up to five months to install.

Permits and HOA Approval

While actual pool construction times vary, remember that there are other things to take care of as well. For example, you’ll have to wait on the appropriate permit or permits, which typically takes up to a week or more. You also need to secure approval from your homeowner’s association if applicable, and how long that will take will vary based on your HOA’s approval process and/or how often it meets.

Set-Up and Filling

Near the end of your pool project, your pool will be filled, the equipment turned on, and general set-up taken care of. How long this will take depends largely on the size of your pool. However, in most cases, once you reach this wonderful stage, you’ll only have to wait a day or two before you can dive right in!

Pools, like all good things in life, require playing a bit of a waiting game. Getting them installed is definitely a process, but it’s one that’s well worth it. Plus, when you know what to expect, it’ll make it that much easier to relax and simply look forward to the day when your pool is finally ready for that first swim.

  1. Needed to put you this little bit of word to say thanks again for the nice knowledge you’ve documented at this time. It was certainly particularly generous Pool
