When you choose to install a pool, you have to consider your yard in its current state, and this includes its trees. Trees can actually do a lot to hinder a pool project or to make a pool less enjoyable or harder to maintain. The good news, though, is that you can always remove trees after the fact. However, plan carefully if you do want some shade for your pool. Once a tree is removed, it can take a very long time to grow back and to provide the same shade-bearing effects you once loved. 

Ultimately, trees are wonderful, important things. But, they can impact your pool. Thus, consult with a pool expert about possible “problem trees” before installation commences. That way, you can make any changes necessary to improve your pool before it’s even built. Ultimately, though, what you do about trees on your property is your call, and you can almost alway change your mind later on down the road.

When the time comes to install a swimming pool, you will likely feel very happy and excited. After all, a pool is a lifelong dream for many people. However, be careful not to let your excitement cloud your judgment. You still need to get a quality swimming pool and a quality swimming pool builder. Without those things, your joy will soon fade to disappointment. Thankfully, though, choosing the right pool company isn’t all that hard if you know what to look for going in.  

A Company That’s Licensed and Insured  

First things first, make absolutely sure that any swimming pool company you hire is fully licensed and insured This will serve to protect not only the swimming pool builder and their workers, but also you and your property. Don’t feel bad about asking for proof of insurance. This just shows that you are a conscientious and concerned consumer and lets the pool builder know, early on, that you’re a customer who demands serious and professional treatment at all times. Plus, any good company will have no problem providing this information to you promptly.  

Verifiable Experience  

Don’t be afraid to ask some tough questions of your prospective swimming pool installer. Find out, for example, what types of pools they’ve installed in the past and how many. Also, ask for references and/or to see photos of work they’ve done. This will allow you to get firsthand accounts of interactions with the company and will also allow you to see the type and quality of work that they do.  

Reviews  

When you ask a swimming pool builder for references, there’s a good chance that they will only provide you with the contact information of satisfied customers. That just makes sense on their part. That’s why it’s important that, in addition to checking references, you also look online for reviews of the company. These are more likely to be unbiased and honest. And, while no company can satisfy every customer 100% of the time, do take notice if there are more negative reviews than positive ones. Also, pay attention to how the company responds to negative reviews, if it does at all. If it’s respectful and tries to resolve problems, that’s a good sign. If it ignores negative reviews or responds unprofessionally, on the other hand, you’ll likely want to look elsewhere for help with your project.
