Making the decision to buy a pool is very exciting. If
you’re like most people, then you probably can’t wait to get it built or
installed and to start swimming. However, as eager as you may be, don’t act too
quickly. There are certain things you should always ask your pool builder or
installer before you enter into any binding agreements.
Timing is Everything
One of the first things you’ll want to ask is how often the
company finishes installations on time. Go ahead and ask for a percentage.
The reason this is important is because you want to get a
feel for whether or not it’s likely that your pool will be finished at the
projected time.
If the “finished by” date doesn’t matter all that much to
you, then it’s no big deal. If you’re really counting on having your pool done
by a certain time, however, you’ll probably want to go with a company that has
a good track record of getting pools done on time or before.
References Matter
You should also ask to see references from people who have
used your pool builder or installer in the past.
Good pool professionals are usually more than happy to give
you glowing, verifiable references from people who have loved their services.
If your pool professional doesn’t offer references up easily, take this as a
major red flag.
Also, remember that you can typically go online and read
reviews from people who have experience with your potential pool company.
These are just two of many questions you should ask your
pool installer or builder ahead of time. You’ll probably come up with many more
as well. Just remember that asking questions and doing your research are keys
for getting a great pool that you’ll be fully satisfied with.
